BACKGROUND

After attempting to develop this technology in 2004, we realised, as a professional, specialist, Coatings Research and Development laboratory why there are few companies worldwide with water based aerosol paint technology.

A review and investigation of patents issued and technology offered by raw material suppliers confirmed there was much work to be done.

Technology was developed by Paint-Tek Surface Solutions Pty Ltd after a considerable investment in aerosol packing equipment and three years of intensive laboratory work and stability trials. After this time, Can-Tek Aerosols was formed to specifically promote this technology.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

A major concern for any new technology developed by an innovative company is the level of protection required to safeguard that technology. A significant level of protection is required both to ensure the investment in time and money is realised and also to ensure our technology partners are protected.

Patents have been written for all our aerosol developments.

As professional coatings formulators we are able to ensure that a chemical and physical analysis of the product by competitors will not reveal crucial manufacturing steps required to successfully manufacture it.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR WATER BASED AEROSOL PAINT

We are looking for international entrepreneurs and joint venture partners to manufacture this novel product.

'Aromatic-free' solvent based aerosol paints with a lower toxicity than conventional solvent based paints have been introduced by some Australian and international manufacturers in an effort to reduce solvent abuse with aerosols. This is a temporary solution to a serious problem. The need for a water based aerosol paint has not been greater.
